Q: what are the instructions for handling the Fiber Optics Fabric ?
The Fiber Optics Fabric is as fast as any other synthetic fabric.
However, unlike other synthetic fabrics, you should NEVER FOLD THE FIBER OPTICS FABRIC perpendicularly to the optical fibers, otherwise this may permanently damage or break the optical fibers.
The Fiber Optics Fabric can be folded (with care) parallel to the optical fibers.
If you don't know or are unsure about the position of the optical fibers in the fabric, then do not fold it at all.
Q: How can I wash my clothes and accessories made of fiber optics fabric ?
The Fiber Optics Fabric can be gently hand washed with water up to 50°C and natural soap.
The batteries must be mandatory removed prior to washing.
If possible, do not immerse the battery box, even if the batteries have been removed.
It is preferable to completely remove the optical module prior to washing. Instructions for removing and replacing the optical module can be found here.
The Fiber Optics Fabric must not be washed in washing machine, folded (pressed) or dried.
NEVER IRON THE FIBER OPTICS FABRIC.
In order to smooth your fiber optics clothe out, simply place it on a clothes hanger after washing out.
Q: Does the Fiber Optics Fabric emit its own light or is it a reflective material ?
The fabric transmits and emits light. It is a non-reflective material.
Q: Is the light of the Fiber Optics Fabric clearly visible in broad daylight ?
The light emitted by the Fiber Optics Fabric is hardly visible in direct sunlight or broad daylight. It is best viewed in dark settings.
Q: Can I switch the light of the Fiber Optics Fabric on or off when I want ?
Yes, all our items include an on/off switch allowing you to control when you want them to be lighted.
Q: How the Fiber Optics Fabric is electrically supplied ?
The Fiber Optics Fabric can be supplied directly by 110/220 Volt using a small transformer. Both rechargeable and traditional batteries can be used in mobile/wearable applications to provide high performance lighting (bags, clothes or any other mobile item). The battery is inserted in the most practical available housing for the manufactured item.
Q: Is there any risk of electrical shock wearing the luminous clothes, do they heat up ?
All our wearable items are powered by low voltage batteries (3V or 4.5V), so there is absolutely no risk of electrical shock.
The Fiber Optics Fabric does not heat up when it is lighted.
Q: What are the light colors that are available ?
Depending on the type of electronic module or LED used with the fabric, many colors are possible. The most common and most luminous are Red, Green, Blue, Yellow and White.
